Joint Managing Partner & CEO

A co-founder of Hermes Securitas, Bertie Worth brings a wealth of financial experience spanning over 20 years and expert knowledge in a variety of exotic products covering the 3 major asset classes. Bertie first came to Asia in 1995 with Bear Stearns in Japan, where he ran the fixed Income, vanilla and exotics trading desk. Thereafter, he moved to Commerzbank as Head of Asia Fixed Income Trading; covering both fixed Income, FX trading and structuring. In 2004 he moved to RBC in Tokyo as Asian Head of Exotic/Hybrid Trading covering fixed Income, FX and equity. Before moving to Asia, Bertie was a derivatives trader for Morgan Stanley in London. He holds a PhD from the Institute of Numerical Methods, Wales.


Joint Managing Partner & President

A co-founder of Hermes Securitas, Gareth is a multi-award winning investment adviser; whilst working with Royal Insurance in London, Gareth developed a corporate financial services business and subsequently headed up an elite national accounts team providing financial advice to the employees of multinationals such as British Aerospace and Mirror Group Newspapers. In 1994, he co-founded the first offshore financial services branch in Japan. Since then he has specialised exclusively in providing wealth management advice for bankers, corporate lawyers and their families. This ultimately led to consultancy work with ABN AMRO, where he led a team developing and marketing bespoke funds to banks throughout Asia.


Chief Investment Officer

A regular on CNBC and Bloomberg TV, and formerly Director of Credit Research for Barclays Capital in Asia; Jason is one of the most highly regarded bond analysts in the region having advised the Bank of England, Bank of Japan and the Federal Reserve. In 2009, he was voted Asia’s second best fixed income analyst in Finance Asia’s investor poll (623 institutional investors were surveyed) whilst his team were consistently ranked the number one fixed income team in the region. Whilst at Barclays Jason was advising on bond issues ranging from $500mm to $3bn in size as well as jumbo bonds (over $5bn). Jason was a Director at Fitch Ratings from 1997 to 2001, prior to which he worked for brokerages on the both the equity and fixed income side in London. Jason is a fluent speaker of Japanese, and in addition to various industry qualifications, holds an Accounting and Finance degree from University of Otago New Zealand.


Business Development

Mark is an accomplished banker and portfolio expert with over 20 years of progressive experience in the finance sector. Based initially in Tokyo and subsequently in Hong Kong and Singapore, Mark has extensive experience and knowledge in the capital markets incorporating fixed income and debt capital markets, investments and structured credit with JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank. Prior to joining JP Morgan in Hong Kong, Mark developed a strong foundation in trust law, custody and asset servicing with BNY Mellon, the world’s largest deposit bank. Mark has comprehensive business development and relationship management experience in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.


Managing Director, Philippines

A senior executive of Far East Bank & Trust co, where he managed a US$300M investment portfolio, Our Managing Director for the Philippines. Dickie Santos, is one of the most qualified, experienced and respected UHNW investment experts practicing in The Philippines today.  Having spent 16 years managing his highly successful independent investment practice, he has worked with UHNW clients and advised senior directors of major financial institutions. Dickie is a graduate of De La Salle University, The Asian Institute of Management Executive Development Programme of Far East Bank & Trust Co.


The Americas

A former head Asian trader for Credit Suisse/Warburg Pincus Asset Management, Craig has procured investments for hedge funds and private equity in excess of $500,000,000. The core of his international investors are spread from Japan to Brazil with select clients in the US, Europe and the Middle East. Craig is a Political Science graduate with a BA from the University of Rochester, New York.


Trust Advisor

Frank has almost 45 years’ experience in all aspects of the international trust industry having worked in London, Jersey and Asia. He was previously the managing director of HSBC’s Singapore trust operation and a director of both HSBC’s Malaysian and Hong Kong trust businesses. An associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, he returned to Jersey in 1994 to head up Standard Bank’s offshore trust group. In 2001, Frank co-founded the Basel Group which he subsequently sold to the international trust company, First Names in 2013.


Pension Specialist

With a foundation built upon 5 years working for Her Majesty’s Inspector of Taxes and a further 3 with Ernst & Young, Christian Brown joined our pension adviser Lutea in the UK in 2002 , moved to their Jersey office in 2006 and then set up their Hong Kong office in 2009 where he is the Managing Director of Lutea’s Asia practice. Chris is a regular traveller around the Asia region providing high net worth individuals and family offices with tax and trust advice. He is also a Chartered Tax Adviser, Trust & Estate Planner and a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians.


The Bullionist

Our adviser on the gold markets, Egon von Greyerz started his working life in Geneva as a banker and thereafter spent 17 years in the UK as Finance Director and Executive Vice-Chairman of Britain’s largest electrical retailer, Dixons Group Plc. Since the 1990s EvG has been actively involved with financial investment activities including Mergers and Acquisitions and Asset allocation consultancy for private family funds. This led to the creation of Matterhorn Asset Management in 1998, an asset management company based on wealth preservation principles. The GoldSwitzerland Division was created to facilitate the buying and storage of physical gold and silver for private investors, companies, trusts and pension funds. EvG makes regular media appearances such as on, CNBC, BBC and King World News and speaks at investment conferences around the world. He also publishes articles on precious metals, the world economy and wealth preservation.


The Master of Wine

Originally trained as a London based corporate & banking lawyer, Ying is the first and only Singaporean Master of Wine. He has been a columnist for some of the worlds leading wine magazines and is a judge in numerous competitions around the world.  A member of the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne, La Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and Commanderie de Bordeaux, Ying started tasting and studying wine as a hobby in 1983 whilst pursuing law studies at university in the United Kingdom.
His Taberna Wine Academy in Singapore has hosted many leading wine producers including Laurent Ponsot, Benjamin Leroux, Olivier Humbrecht MW, Nicolas Potel, Bruno Paillard, Michele Jermann and Serge Hochar.
Ying will be providing private wine tastings and advising Hermes clients upon buying wine for investment purposes as well as for pleasure.

A former senior master at Papplewick School in Ascot, Jim Hewer is the founder of Heritage Education, the UK’s leading private school placement consultancy. A former pupil at the exclusive Marlborough College, Jim uses his experience as a teacher to create a comprehensive profile of each child to ensure that they are placed in the right school for their individual needs. Jim is also the owner of The Summer Academy a two week residential, academic summer camp held at Sunningdale school near London for boys and girls aged between 9-14.


The Gallerist

David brings over 16 years of experience in the art world to Winston Art Group. Before coming to Winston, he was Senior Vice President of Business Development for nine years at a New York art advisory firm. Prior to that, he was Fine Art Specialist and Appraiser at Chubb Insurance Company in London, and he started his career in the Valuation, Tax & Heritage Department of Sotheby’s London. He holds a Bsc (Hons) in Valuation and Estate Management and has a Diploma from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art. David is on the Steering Committee of Professional Affiliates for the Appraisers Association of America, and has served on the Inland Marine Underwriting Association Arts and Records Committee. He lectures extensively around the country at museums, corporations, art fairs, and to private collectors. Additionally, he has taught at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, in New York.
